Molding tools made of various metallic and non-metallic high-performance materials are used for non-isothermal glass forming. The precise manufacture of the molding tools is crucial for achieving the highest accuracy in forming. To increase tool life, there is the option of reducing wear by applying protective coatings.

A wide range of geometric features is covered: aspherical and free-form lenses, wafer-level inserts, multi-cavity molds. For non-isothermal glass forming, materials are used that are highly resistant to thermal shock and alternating temperatures and have suitable heat dissipation properties.
